Yeah yeah, the gearhead is gonna get philosophical for a second here, don't tell anyone. I shoot for myself and myself alone, and have always been 'fine' with that. If others like something I thought was interesting, so much the better.

And yet, I like the 'community' aspect of Flickr. It hasn't really changed how I shoot but it has certainly given me much to think about.

And then I saw this essay at Luminous Landscape yesterday:
Of Audiences and Best Sellers

I've always found Briot's essays at LL a little exasperating and too, hell i dunno, arty and utopian I guess. But the guy _IS_ deep too. This one more than anything else he has written made me stop and re-evaluate things a bit.

We'll see if it lasts =)
