Panasonic DMP BD55K Firmware Update

Thread Starter
I searched for an answer, but did not find one for this blu-ray player

Panasonic has a firmware update (1.5) for the BD55K. The Owner's Manual talks about hooking the player to your router for automatic updates.

It does mention that "If downloading on this unit fails or this unit is not connected to the Internet, then you can download the latest firmware from
the following website and burn it to a CD-R to update the
firmware."

The manual does not give specific instructions for how to load it into the player.

I will have to assume that the BD55K will recognize it when reading.

Has anyone updated their 55K using the disk method? What procedure did you use? Hooking mine to the DSL router is not an option.

Thanks

Re: Panasonic DMP BD55K Firmware Update

I would call or email their customer support. Obviously, they are hell-bent on any updates being automatically downloaded via an ethernet connection.
Strange they provide the download with no specific instructions. I would not assume anything with regards to the actual procedure without calling first.

Really, do that wrong and you've bricked your player.
