Not sure why this is the case but both my SD digital cable and DVD player produce a lag when listening through my receiver.

My cable box is connected via coax and my dvd player hdmi.
sony xbr4 if that helps too.

and so if i have my tv speaker sound coming at the same time as my receiver i hear a deep echo.

also....anyone know if it's possible to turn off audio received from my hdmi connection to the dvd player?? it's a pain in the butt to always lower my volume to zero so that my sound only comes from the 5.1....
