I am in the planning process of building a home theater PC. At the very least, I want to be able to use it as a DVR (I have dish network so I guess I wouldn't need much of a tuner card since channels, etc will be selected on the receiver), and also maybe run something like DVD Lobby or something on it to play either DVD images from the hard disk, or to control a multi dvd carousel. I'll also use it to play streaming netflix movies, MP3s, etc.
Blu-Ray would be a plus but isn't a big deal right now since I don't have any disks.
Must be quiet but I don't want to spend a fortune.
Please recommend what should go into this thing (video card, processor, ram, sound card, tv in/out cards, etc. Software recommendations are welcome too. Post what you're using and if it does the job for you. I've got lots of experience building PCs, but haven't done one in a few years so I'm sure there are things out there I'm not aware of these days.
Thanks all!
