I have always bought pioneer elite items and I am ready to upgrade to a hdmi compatible one. Which model do forum posters prefer? I am planning a panny 3000 projector, PS3, plus direct tv or dish network, and I will be hooking my elite 59dvd player for SACds.

I own the SC07, so depending on your budget I would at least try for the SC-05.

Re: which pioneer elite receiver

I recently purchased a 94-TXH on close-out. I couldn't justify the additional $460 premium for the SC-05.

My previous receiver was an Elite 47-TX. The 94-TXH sounds just as good with lossy DD and DTS sources, and lossless audio sounds terrific. The amps have more than enough power to drive my 7 B&W 600 Series speakers -- I set them all to small. The 94-TXH also runs a lot cooler than my old 47-TX.

what advantages does the sc05 offer over the 94? Ive compared them head to head on the website and most specs look the same or simular.

The only major difference is the SC05 uses a new class D amp called ICEpower. The amp section in the 94, though, is more than enough to power my system and compares favorably with my old 47TX.
