So I have been using my stereo for a while and I have always had this problem. The sound quality is great but it seems like the actors voices are always to quiet compared the other sounds. Is there a way to enhance or increase just the voices rather than all the other crap such as music or explosions and whatnot?

Re: Setting up my surround sound.
I assume that you are talking about a 5.1 system not stereo, but the key is to make sure that the levels to each channel are set correctly. Depending on your equipment, at a minimum you will need an SPL Meter and test tones. The test tones (noise actually) can be provided by either your AVR or a DVD such as Digital Video Essentials.Joe Kane Productions
If you really have just a 2.0 stereo system, then you cannot do anything that I know of since there is no way to control the levels other than the volume control.

Re: Setting up my surround sound.
It would be best to properly calibrate your system with a test tone disc and SPL meter, but in the meantime you can deal with your immediate problem simply by turning up the volume of the center channel speaker relative to the others. Check your manual for the procedure.Regards,
Joe
