Ahh OK. I got mine in August, so I think I'm probably safer. But that still blows.

Ooooh!

Well, I'd hold onto it for now, if I were you. If it's a rather common problem, maybe Sony will offer to fix it either very cheaply or for free, especially since they need the PS3 to succeed (and not be plagued by bad word-of-mouth w/ this).

As to why I don't buy those more complex expensive systems. Drivers for this franchise.
