I have a 64 inch pioneer elite pro720 with only component video hookup. Is there a connector i can get to use hdmi cables? I like my tv but I read that bluray will not send true HD over component cables.

your HDMI cable will have to go to your receiver, then to your display if you want to take advantage of the HD audio codecs.

If your receiver will not accept HDMI then...

I suggest you run component from your BD player to your Elite display. Run at 1080i, it will look fantastic (especially if your display has been calibrated and cleaned recently). You would then run digital audio from your BD player to your receiver. (unless your BD player and receiver have 5.1 audio ins and outs).

Good luck!

HDFury makes an HDMI to YPbPr adapter that is HDCP compatible.

Is this tv still a good one? I know it is ancient in electronic years but when I had voom back in the day HD looked awesome. I have not seen HD on it since then, and I do not have bluray yet as I mistakenly bought a pioneer elite 59 dvd player before hd players were out.
