i have a pr of b&w cdm9nt speakers. i have a chance to trade these speakers for a pr of thiel cs7 speakers. both speakers are in excellent condition.i know obviously the cs7 is a better speaker but seeing how they are atleast 10 yrs old.i know they have a tweeter issue that they tend to blow easy.the tweeters on the thiel have been replaced 2 weeks ago..does any one else know of any other issues with the thiel? would the trade be worth it? thanks guys!

Re: thiel cs7 or b&w cdm9nt speakers???
Well, I am a Thiel fanatic, but there are factors to consider. The B&Ws are easier to drive properly. The Thiels need a ton of solid, low impedance stable power. I use an Aragon 4004II, which you can pick up used for around $500. They also need to be place at least a couple feet away from the front wall and more from side walls to really shine. My 3.6s are 4 ft from the front wall. If you drive them properly and essentially give them run of the room, nothing touches them. If not, you are probably better off with the B&Ws.Re: thiel cs7 or b&w cdm9nt speakers???
i would have the thiels running off a plinius 8100 integrated amp.which i think would be more then enough power? 100 watts per channel..the room size would be 13'x15' i believe.i know it would be over kill for the room but i can always bring them to a bigger size room.ive heard alot of people saying that the glue to hold on the rubber surround on the cs7 wear off and eventually the rubber surround comes undone.i dont know how true that is though
