Re: Reaper Season 2....

I have missed a lot of the episodes this year. I am glad the dvd is coming out in June. Just hope there is a season 3.

Re: Reaper Season 2....

Damn, Ted is such a douche.

I enjoy everything with Nina. But she's awfully easy on the eyes, which helps

Apparently she's from my town, which makes me fantasize about running into her when she's visiting for the holidays.

Re: Reaper Season 2....

I am enjoying this show more and more with every episode. The moment where Ben and Sock have the simultaneous epiphany about clown strippers was the hardest I have laughed at my TV in quite a long time. I hope it overcomes its seemingly long odds for renewal.

Regards,

Re: Reaper Season 2....

Nina is seriously hot alright. Good episode - hoping for this to get picked back up.

Love the mythology that's developing with the show, and the way it weaves in and out of the traditional Catholic dogma with its own skewed take on heaven and hell. Follow the Way of Steve!

You can see Kevin Smith's fingerprints all over this show.

Re: Reaper Season 2....

I'll never get the image of Sock doing "the shark" out of my head. I mean what type of writer comes up with that?

This really sucks if no other network picks this up for a season 3. Sounds like the CW has already let it go.

I guess I'm glad I wasn't really paying attention to his description.

Sucks that it will end unresolved, but I think I will miss Nina most of all...

Re: Reaper Season 2....

I did love the ending though; I hear they are shopping for a syndication effort since no CW on Sunday nights, to see if enough locals pick it up or are willing. I'd be good with that.

Re: Reaper Season 2....

I was impressed with the season finale. If it ends up being a series finale, it's suitable. Fits in with the motif of the rest of the show quite well I thought.

Very Kevin Smith.

Re: Reaper Season 2....

A Good Finale but was hoping for a bit more closure, hope the show gets picked up, but if it does without Sock I'm not sure I'd enjoy it, he'd be tough to replace.

Re: Reaper Season 2....

I love Kevin Smith as much as anyone, but he hasn't had anything to do with the show since the pilot, despite the producer credit. His main contribution was creating the visual style of the show and pulling this cast together.

I think Tyler Labine's contract for "Sons of Tucson" is secondary to "Reaper." If ABC manages to lock down a syndication deal for a third season before the existing contract expires, Fox is going to have to recast for "Sons of Tucson."

The biggest problem facing the show (and one of the reasons the CW decided not to renew) was because the showrunners signed a deal with 20th Century Fox Television. There's no way Fox would let them continue on a rival studio's production, especially when stealing the star away from one of their new fall shows.

Great season finale that promises an even more interesting third season. I love that they're starting to give us little hints about what heaven entails, after two seasons focused on hell.

They say that, while everyone is afraid of the same things, no two people laugh at the same things. They could drop "Sock" down a deep dark hole and I wouldn't blink. The rest of the cast are OK and the premise is fine but Tyler Labine grates on me.

Hopefully the finale left a scenario that other people are willing to continue.

Re: Reaper Season 2....

Interesting episode. Terrible spot to end the series. The show's biggest problem was the leads - Sam and Andi - too bland and limited in range.

Plus the writing was uninspired ie Andi's meeting with the Devil happening offscreen? Hello! Think that might have been a good scene to show the viewers perhaps?

Re: Reaper Season 2....

I loved the premise of the show, especially the fundamental reason that Sam works at his dead-end job—because his parents never pushed him to achieve anything or excel because he was doomed at the end.

Unfortunately the writing pretty much went downhill, with several episodes using scenes that really had nothing to do with character development or advancing the plot—but (as has been pointed out already by Lou) leaving out what might have been significant and interesting scenes.

I Think Sam is Perfect, he's the classic straightman, it's the way he plays off the other characters, especially his buddies and the Devil. I agree the meeting between Andi and the Devil has to be seen, a classic missed opportunity.

Re: Reaper Season 2....

Just a quick heads up that I'm working on the review for Reaper S2 now. What a great show, I'll be bummed if it doesn't get picked up for syndication.

Tapehand!!

Me too. He was the reason I couldn't watch the show very much. But the premise and the rest of the cast seemed great.
