8 ohm speaker in 4 ohm crossover

What would happen to the HF crossover at 1.6khz if I replaced the HF driver as 8 ohms, but the crossover was made for a 4 ohm speaker. would the crossover frequency change at all? any info is welcome.

It would change but I'm not sure about the direction. It would either be 800hz or 3.2khz. That's an average because speakers aren't a flat 4ohm or 8ohm. The impedance varies by frequency.

Aside from the shift of crossover, you will also have mismatches with sensitivity and who knows what else. It's probably just not a good idea.

Most manufacturer's Parts Dept. can sell you an original factory replacement of any drivers needed.
