What would happen to the HF crossover at 1.6khz if I replaced the HF driver as 8 ohms, but the crossover was made for a 4 ohm speaker. would the crossover frequency change at all? any info is welcome.

Re: 8 ohm speaker in 4 ohm crossover
It would change but I'm not sure about the direction. It would either be 800hz or 3.2khz. That's an average because speakers aren't a flat 4ohm or 8ohm. The impedance varies by frequency.-Robert

Aside from the shift of crossover, you will also have mismatches with sensitivity and who knows what else. It's probably just not a good idea.

Most manufacturer's Parts Dept. can sell you an original factory replacement of any drivers needed.
