Not a problem. I saw there wasn't a deal posted for the day and figured I should contribute. I appreciate your keeping this thread updated, but it does make it too easy to spend money.

that's my thought too. I am a member of several shopping forums just to make sure I don't miss the best buys. Sure I am an admitted shop-a-holic. It's not that I only buy cheap, my main thing is to buy value. Value is what I remember long after the price is forgotten.

If you use the drop-down menu from Amazon's home page (under "Shop All Departments), both the "Music, Movie and Games" and "Digital Downloads" have links to the MP3 home page. The "Deal of the Day" is usually listed very early in the morning (usually by 3AM Central). On Fridays the top of this page lists the "Five for $5 Friday Deals" which usually run through Monday. In addition, if you scroll down the "Browse MP3s" box that's under the "Daily Deal", you'll find links to "Free Songs and Special Deals" for HUNDREDS of free songs (usually, but not always on indie labels) and current deals listed.

And for Saturday it's: Amazon.com: Cars: MP3 Downloads: Various for $1.99.

I also find that I will purchase a title where I am only familiar with one or two of the artists previous songs. For (generally) $1.99 I feel I can justify the price even if only two songs are good...and when there are more, it makes it all the better!

Melody Gardot is still listed at $3.99 this morning...

I also found this Amazon.com: Loveboat: MP3 Downloads: Erasure for $2.99. A decent price for a decent Erasure CD that I seem to think never got a physical release in the US since they were in between record deals at the time.

I've noticed that the deal of the day sometimes lasts up to a week.

These deals can really add up. I need to be discriminating in my purchases, though I think I will be picking up Ms. Gardot's album. Just from the sample clips, she is talented and has a beautiful voice.
