I just subscribed to this thread recently as I was given an iPod for a recent birthday. I've never downloaded tunes as I've been mostly off-loading music from my rather substantial CD collection.

But...a bargains a bargain and I thought I would consider branching out and trying some new stuff. Which brings me to this post...

I just clicked your link on the Rascal Flats download and I see $4.99. Is that a special price for old guys like me who've never downloaded music over the internet before?!? Or, is amazon hiring people from Best Buy to screen potential customers?

No Rascal Flatts for me. I didn't like what I heard on the amazon samples.

This idea makes absolutely zero sense to me. With a downturn in the world economic situation who is seriously thinking that raising prices is a good idea? I mean besides the music industry which has been ass backwards for decades. Idiots.

I loved the free track "Daddy played the banjo" so the rest of the album for $5 is a bargain, sold!

If you aren't familiar with Madeleine Peyroux, take a listen to her. I discovered her recently through the last.fm music service. Her album Careless Love is amazing, and the new one on the $5 Friday deal is getting some good reviews. I'm debating whether to buy the download or purchase the disc though.

784 works on 87 CDs. That's a lot of music!
