New guy here just wanted to say hi and get rid of the yellow banner that says "why not make your first post". This is a great site full of information. Thank you for all the help you all have already given me...Keith

Also as a word of caution, do not mention the 4 letter "B" word in the Speakers & Subwoofer section.

Re: New guy

Don't forget, as the new guy you have to give us a full autobiography making special mention of your decision to first embrace widescreen over pan/scan, where you drew battle lines in the Blu-ray vs HD-DVD war (or you can even go back to DVD vs DIVX) and any other notable home theatre history.

We will be grading this.

You also have to tell us your stance on gold plated interconnections vs normal. Monster Cable vs zip cord. DTS vs Dolby Digital. Extra credit for obscure references and citations.

Also, you'll be graded on grammar and spelling.

Unfortunately 24 years ago this site wasn't around and I chose BETA over VHS. I didn't get off to a good start but that wired remote seemed so cool. I have been trying to make informed decisions every since.

Don't fret. If you do some searching I'm quite confident you'll find a thread or some posts on why Beta was better than VHS (or the other way around).
