Still hoping to see Scent of a Woman released on Blu. Any plans for this year? :/

The following was released 1/19/10 from Universal and has been removed:

Smokin' Aces

As a side note, this brings the # of Universal catch-up titles down to under 100.

That makes only 32 titles in my collection for which there is no BD available.  Of those, I estimate about a third that will be that way for at least another year, probably two.  However, it is good to see that, should my three HD DVD players (two stand alone and one combo computer drive) fail, I will be able to replace a good number of them with BDs (I have about 160 HD DVDs in total).

Stardust is hitting Blu-ray Disc 02/01/2010 in the UK.  Has there been any word on a US release?

I've learned that, when it comes to Warner, one shouldn't go by unofficial lists. They're schedule is too fluid, and too many times I've seen titles on "leaked" lists be months off in their release date accuracy.

Besides, none of those are catch-up titles.

Forbidden Planet is ketchup, yes?

Yes, it is. Overlooked that. I'll wait for a press release to add a date, though. :)

Could you post your Brit friends info here Jedi?  I also would be willing to buy the import BD if  it's region-free.  TIA.

Forbidden Planet is like when the Criterion edition of Robocop was announced on laserdisc. It took forever to finally come out due to some issues with rights I think. I gather that's not the case here for FP, but I'll be very happy to see it. So I really hope it's coming!

Those 2 Bogart titles, Mutiny, and Ben Hur are also going to be cool to see  out.

As no other site has confirmed the Tremors release I'm changing it to TBA 2010 status.

How does the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Blu-ray compare to the HD DVD? My husband wants to buy the Blu but he was very disappointed Criterion wasn't in charge of this release. We can't wait for The Frighteners and many other titles still in our HD DVD collection we're antsy to chang-over to Blu.

Without RAH's seal of approval, though, it won't go on my shelf (I'll live with my BFI region 2 SD DVD for now).

Only 25 left before all of my HD DVD titles can be replaced by BD (not that I'm in a rush, but when that number is zero for me, then my ability to replace a title if needed will be secure).
