After dinner with Frank & Phoebe and Joe & Sarah, my friend Valerie Yaros asked if I'd be interested in seeing the Hollywood Heritage Museum. Valerie is the historian for the Screen Actors Guild and on the board of the Hollywood Heritage Museum. Turned out she had the keys to the museum (and knew how to turn off the security alarm). The museum is the former barn where Cecil B. DeMille and his partners, Jesse Lasky and Sam Goldwyn shot Hollywood's first feature film, "The Squaw Man" released in 1914. You can see DeMille's original Hollywood office, props from "The Ten Commandments" (both versions) and other productions, cameras used for shooting "Gone With The Wind" and "The Big Trail" are on display. There was a tremendous amount of props, ephemera, etc. on display. Hopefully next HTF Hollywood Meet we can have a group outing to this museum. It can easily handle a group our size and we could have picnics outside or have a catered lunch for a large group.

Re: The Hollywood Heritage Museum
What an opportunity. Hopefully it can be made available the next time we're in LA.
