For anyone interested, that's valid *only* on 7/3 in the retail stores.  Given their typical (MSRP?) pricing, not sure it's really worth the special trip for me since I won't be going to work that day.

But thanks though for the pointer...

Good one, Jeff!

Thanks Jeff.

I had to go to the big city today and there is a Borders 2 blocks from my meeting.   Not a lot of great deals since I didn't need any of the discs that were already 30% off (not sure it would have stacked), but I did get Weeds S2 for $20 and the Watchman Comic BluRay for 17.50.   Not great prices, but each a little less than Amazon for now even after Tax.    The Borders rewards card is pretty useless, but it's free and all you have to do is supply an email (I guess you could even make one up).

Yeah, what's the deal on this? I'm a Rewards member and used to get weekly coupons via email, and I haven't gotten anything in months. But then it coincides with the time I stopped SPENDING MONEY at my local Borders because they dropped media. So perhaps the coupons are distributed only to active buyers.

^ I thought it was because of my regular abuse of the coupons.  The coupons always say that you can only use it once per time period but I'd use as many as I needed so I figured they started to 'blacklist' me because of that. Fortunately, you can usually find a coupon online so they can't stop me!!!!!

25% off any one item.  Through 8-26-2009

=========

And all you educators should know that Borders is gearing up for its annual 25% off sale for teachers, etc.

This thread's been kinda quiet lately.

^ Here's a 30% off coupon that's good through September 2 (and it seems like it's one of those ongoing coupons because a few days ago it said that it expired on August 28).

All thanks should be given to DVD Talk.  I'm still not recieving Borders coupons. Yet they still manage to remember me when it comes to sending out ads about coffee or movie tickets.

Well...you're getting Border's coupons here!

You are a reward club member of theirs...and you gave them your e-mail address?  And you don't get their e-mail coupons/advertisements?  That's weird.  Did you go through the process of telling them the stuff that they sell that you are interested in, etc.?

^ I used to get the coupons sent to me all the time but I kept using two or three coupons in one period (and you're only allowed to use it once per period) so I just figured I got bumped from the coupon list because of that. Even if I've just mistakenly got bumped, it doesn't really bother me because I have no trouble getting them.

30% off any ONE item...just thru 9-9-09.

But there's some interesting new releases scheduled for 9-9-09.    Maybe this might really help some people!

So, has the never-ending coupon finally ended?  I don't get anything when I go to the usual link... :(

Good question, Clay.  Since my local Borders has removed ALL of its media (save one small aisle kiosk which has a couple new releases and Christmas titles on it), I haven't been as interesetd in the Border's coupons.

But I bet someone will report with some good info.

Yeah, I think it's been gone for a couple weeks now. The best coupon I've seen for this weekend is a Buy 1, Get 1 50% off coupon (which is good until November 9):

I'm not a math major but that coupon doesn't seem to be that great of a discount on anything that I wanted. If you've got two things to pick up, I guess it's better than nothing though.

Like Mike, I don't buy DVDs there any more (though it seems like my store has a bigger selection than his store) but I still pick up books when I have a coupon.

I sure miss their more eclectic selection than what I find at my local best Buy & FYE.

Thank goodness there's still a Barnes & Noble nearby...although their media selection is smaller than it used to be.

Haven't seen a discount coupon of any kind since Christmas.  Shame...

The end of the Borders media experience (and coupons), for me, is one of the sad tales of 2009.

The retailers I have left have awful CD sections and their DVD/BD sections are just a little bit better--concentrating heavily on new releases.

No wonder I am getting more and more accustomed to turning to online retailers more often.  I'm probably one of the last holdouts.  (I should qualify I've purchased many things on-line...but I figure I still do the bulk of my shopping--especially "window shopping"--at local retailers.)
