Hi I have an Onykyo TX DS595 AV receiver, of late the infra red receiver has failed to operate from commands from the remote control, sometimes it will operate, but now appears to have failed completely, The Remote transmitter is in order, I have programmed it to operate other equipment,which works ok, I suspect a faulty infra red receiver module in the receiver,
Rather than having to dismantle my AV receiver, I have an alternative solution which I think I can employ using a seperate infra red receiver mounted on the amp, this amplifer has a jack socket market R1 with a 3.5mm socket I am unsure if this is an output or an input! Question I have is this,.can I connect the external infra red receiver to this socket, will this method enable me to have control from my Remote control transmitter? any feed back is most welcome
