Hello All, and thank you in advance for any light you may be able to shed on my issue.
I have an Optoma EP910 Projector, and recently have been experiencing a problem where the projector freezes, and the image becomes distorted, and completely black and white.
The lamp seems to continue to operate, as does the fan, but also, if i try to open the submenu in the projector, it doesn't display the image of that.
I've looked extensively online for more information, and have found that the lamp is graded for 2000 hours of life. According to the projector, there is only 86 hours left, so i realize that could be the issue, but i don't want to purchase a new lamp and find out that isn't the problem.
The 'freezing' happens often, but in no particular pattern. The projector sometimes works for hours with no problems, other times it happens every 5 minutes after i turn it on, even if i let it cool down for a while.
I know it has to be serviced, but just want to be able to identify potential causes. Could it be the lamp? Is it overheating?
Thanks again, and sorry for the longwinded explanation
