Sony makes some very nice flat panels.

Also consider Samsung LCD panels.

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-52V4100

hey guys...im new here, signed up a few days ago and needed help on setting up in a new home my wife and i are having built....we wont move in until July '09 but i wanted to get more input from true consumers.

now that i got that out of the way.....i was actually looking at this set myself. its on sale at Sears for $1900 and i think BestBuy has it as well for the same price. i read that its "cheaper" compared to similar models because it "comes without the 120hz motion flow". i have to do my research on that statement, but does anyone know what that means??...you know, in "english", lol. i currently own a Sony Grand WEGA 50' 3LCD rear projector. i've had one problem, but since i got the extended warranty, it was covered. i started getting a "purple" haze at the corners - which was the light engine. tech came in, ordered the part, came back a week later to install, and BAM - working like new again. with the new house on the way, im looking to "upgrade" and use this TV in the master bedroom which is at 20 x 25. Any input would be highly appreciated.

There's a fairly good explanation of 120 Hz here:

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-52V4100

greetings

Nice set ... calibrates well ... typical LCD flat panel weaknesses like black levels and viewing angles. The image may be viewable at many angles but the look of the image keeps shifting.

The 120 hz thing might be good for sports events on TV. Generally do not want to use motion flow on a Blu HD film.

regards
