Bakara

I noticed this is due for release at the end of this month. I have never watched it but have heard of it. Anyone have some info on this - such as whether it might be worth a purchase? MPI is saying it is a 8K Ultra Digital HD on the cover - they supposedly scanned the original 70mm negative at 8K. If that is the case it should look as good as any BD title so far - if not better.

Re: Bakara

Roger Ebert on Baraka - "The restored 2008 Blu-ray DVD is the finest video disc I have ever viewed or ever imagined. It was made from the Todd-AO print, which was digitally restored to a perfection arguably superior to the original film. It is the first 8K resolution video ever made of a 65mm film, on the world's only scanner capable of it. It is comparable to what is perceptible to the human eye, the restorers say. "Baraka" by itself is sufficient reason to acquire a Blu-ray player"

Re: Bakara

The poster should have just used the existing thread:

Re: Bakara

Glad to hear Ebert is such a fan, I take him more of a Johnny Cage guy myself.

Re: Bakara

Guess I should pay a little more attention to my spelling - and sorry I missed a previous thread on this!
