Best Buy replacing a Samsung 50" DLP

I purchased this HDTV 3/2005 for $2200 with a service contract from Best Buy. As recommended, prior to the expiration of the contract, I requested they come out and replace the bulb. The original part # for the TV is no longer available. Best Buy did not do their homework because Samsung uses a different part number now for my TV. Anyway, Best Buy is going to replace the TV with a new one since they can't get the part. First, they were going to offer a different brand but they didn't tell me which one. But, I am happy with my Samsung model #HLP5063W. They told me they will give me a 2008 Samsung model #HL50A650. They have it on their website for $999. Is this set comprable, better then or less then my current TV?
