The Amazing Race season 13 - Page 2

Re: The Amazing Race season 13

Great season so far. Kelly and Christy are good for a laugh but I'm glad they're gone.

I have a feeling about the mom and son team.

BTW, my wife and I were laughing every time a team made it to the mat and the Indian guy watering the temple lawn dropped his hose and ran back to Phil. What was up with 'dat?!?

Just goes to show that even the production crew probably runs into difficulties with the locals from time-to-time...

Tina looked pretty good with green hair...

Re: The Amazing Race season 13

Tina's hair was almost uniformly green, and she actually looked better.

Also like the Nick/Starr and Toni/Dallas teams. Hope they are the final two. They are enjoying the game and not ruthless backstabbing whiners.
Nick&Starr take too much credit for their tactical "white lies".

Re: The Amazing Race season 13

Probably no more than anybody else. I figure that Van Munster and Doganieri stick a mike in their faces at the end of every day, and you've got to say something that makes it sound like you were doing something special (the Derek Jeter say-nothing-but-sound-good soundbite doesn't come naturally to everyone!). Then the editors are in charge.

So Terence needs to stop his whining and complaining!

I don't know why, but the entire time Kelly was getting "attacked" in that Holi ceremony I couldn't stop laughing. Man, they were really giving it to her.

Re: The Amazing Race season 13

It was very satisfying when Tina got nailed with the dye while waiting for Ken. She looked like a Leprechaun. LOL.

Agreed. How do they come up with this stuff? Great TV.

Heheh, don't worry, I can't count how many of these reality show contestants I've proclaimed my love for over the years only to discard by the time the next season starts. Of course there are a handful who have slipped through the cracks and stood the test of time (I still love you, Kathryn from The Mole, Kelly from Survivor: Africa, and Courtney from Survivor: China) but I don't think Christy has what it takes to make that elite group.

Re: The Amazing Race season 13

Despite what I said earlier, i'm soooo glad that Kelly and Cristy are history! I couldn't believe how immature they were, they acted like high school girls giggling at other people etc.

They came across like the kind of girls Carrie would have set on fire with her mind at the prom lol.

They're ordeal at the colored powder festival was a knee-slapping, gut-busting good time to watch.

Team Apatow are entertaining so i'd like them to stick around.

Good episode last night, the cow thing was pretty funny, Team Superbad is not giving frat members a good show, seemingly doing everything not to succeed in the race. They're lucky Terence and Sarah manage to do an even worse thing, attempt to race somebody else in a Fast Forward when they really didn't need to. Neither them nor Nikki/Star seemed to really need the fast forward so why risk possible catastrophe in failure. But then to top it off, the whole meat thing and these contestants is always a good source of entertainment... I love vegetarians, they should be forced to eat meat more often. It makes for a good show!

Re: The Amazing Race season 13

I relished the concept of Terence/Sarah dealing with the food challenge. I wasn't disappointed.

The frat boys are proof that you really need to have a particular mind-set to take part in an exercise like this. They are such defeatists when their incompetence rears. "Oh woe is me that we can't iron shirts. Oh woe is me that we cannot follow directions." Immature whiners.

I don't ever recall a season in which there have been so many screw-ups which involved the reading of the clues. It seems as if there is usually enough time to review the clues as the teams are dashing off to wherever the challenge is...but maybe not. But, if not, I would think it's been proven that it's "worth it" to TAKE the time. But the stress of the situation certainly may not allow for such reasoned thinking.

Re: The Amazing Race season 13

Whew! (wipes sweat from forehead) Team Apatow almost lost their chance to buy the worlds most expensive bong in last nights ep! They are sooo lucky they came in 4th afterall.

Good riddence Terrance and Sarah!

So glad that Nikki and Starr are still in it and dominating, they're my fav team and it's not just because Starr is painfully hot.

Yes it is...because I know, John, you are not that shallow that they are your favorite team because they are the "nicest." You are shallow for much different reasons (such as, she's hot).

Re: The Amazing Race season 13

I'm on the opposite side of the fence. I LOATHE the frat boys. I've watched every season of the Amazing Race, and I can't stand these two jerks more than any team that has ever raced, even more than the guy who was abusive towards his wife.

They have no redeeming features. They are stupid, aren't enjoying the race or the areas of the world they are seeing, they are disrespectful to the other teams and people they meet, are woefully unathletic, they don't read clues. I just can't stand them. It would be a dreadful shame if they make the final three. As it is, they are the worst team ever to make it to the final four.

I don't like Tina, but at least I can respect the things she does well. These guys are worthless.

Re: The Amazing Race season 13

I lost interest in the episode as soon as Nick and Starr completed the Fast Forward because I knew they wouldn't be showing any more of Starr in the episode.

Nah, I like them, they seem to be having fun and not taking it too seriously.

And I feel I must make my position on Team Apatow clear, I can't stand them either. I only want them around because their antics are funny, they can go at anytime.

I wouldn't go that far, but yeah, I'm not a fan of the frats at all. I expected them to be comic relief, but instead the one with glasses is just a pain in the ass and the one with the afro just complains about his teammate's attitude. They're far from my all-time least favorites but they're the sort of team I usually would love and yet I can't stand them.

I was really disappointed to see Terence/Sarah go because they were the only entertaining and likable team left. Now I'm rooting for Toni/Dallas just because they're the least insufferable team remaining even if they don't exactly make for captivating television.

Terence & Sarah = likeable ?!?

Mike, your just an evil, evil man showing me somethin' like that.

BTW, I want Dallas and his mommy gone for one reason, he's makin' a play for Starr and I don't like that.

In a trainwreck sort of way.

Starr is usually fine (and quite hot as we all seem to agree) but Nick just irritates me with his constant "Listen to me brag about some insignificant thing I did to hurt another team; I'll do anything if it gets us ahead" comments. Even Boston Rob was less full of himself.

I don't know about you guys, but we were laughing so hard last night at the scene where the frat boy couldn't march. It's like his torso and legs were independent of each other. At first I thought no one could be that bad and he was getting paid to be pure comedy. I was laughing so hard my abs hurt. I couldn't even immitate that if I had to.

Same here. I saw it in the previews, but that did not do it justice. I was dying.

Re: The Amazing Race season 13

Yeah, that was hilarious. Granted, I absolutely would have been that guy in that situation, but I'd like to think I'd have recognized it and went to serving borscht right away.

Also, I mention this at least once every race, but it seemed especially relevant last night with those guys down to their last dollar and another team falling behind because of their bad luck in choosing taxis: I really wish the race planners would make public transportation an option or necessity more often. I understand the reasons why not - getting permits and clearances and fitting camera/sound equipment onto a crowded train is probably very difficult - but it would certainly put teams' fates more in their own hands, be a different test of traveling skills, and cut down on the "this cabbie is so awful!" scenes that make even the folks we like looks unpleasant.

Re: The Amazing Race season 13

LOVED the marching/borscht challenge. The reaction shots of the Russian Marching Band members were priceless.

And...according to the previews...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
...the boys have to do some more fancy moves as part of their speedbump!

I was really amazed they had a challenge which involved moving 50 fifty-pound bags of flour! THAT'S a killer! (not to mention the lady behind the counter at the bakery! ) Honestly...I don't know what teams without a big guy would have done. For example, an older couple...or the divorcees. However, I wouldn't have minded seeing Terence or Sarah have to do THAT!

"C'mon, babe! Only 49 to go, babe! You can do it, babe!"
