I just watched The Fortress, the 80s film with Rachel Ward about the kidnapped school kids. That's one of those that I never know if it should be included or not. It does have some scenes that sure look like horror, lots of suspense and even some gore. Definitely a thriller. I think next year I'll include it in the marathon. Man, I love this film! I can't recommend it enough. |

I love the Fortress. I used to watch it every time it aired on HBO back in the day. An Australian gem. Yes, it absolutely qualifies as a scary movie. Those kidnappers in those spooky masks(especially Father Christmas) had me terrified when I used to watch it. It still remains one of the spookiest movies I own. Rachel Ward was also pretty easy on the eyes in the film

I saw the standards got stretched so far last year that they included Transformers. Transformers are not monsters. |
