How I Met Your Mother - season 4 - Page 5

Re: How I Met Your Mother - season 4

So was that a bone for all the fans that hope Ted and Robin get back together?

Re: How I Met Your Mother - season 4

It seems that way, the episode was suggesting that they broke up under artificial circumstances.

wasn't that Peter Pan.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - season 4

Absolutely a stunning ep. They had three themes working in concert - main plot of Lilly's interference, the night shirts and Robin's show - and managed to have all of them be very funny. I had to watch the scenes with Robin on tv twice because I didn't hear what Lilly said the first time through. Not to mention the 4th theme of the two adapted bits of dialogue from A Few Good Men and Spiderman. They also nailed each of the characters' traits and worked them into the ep. Great stuff.

I don't recall Spider-Man references. Where were they?

Hilarious episode! And I really enjoy the ongoing silly and funny ways they (try to) hide Alyssa's pregnancy.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - season 4

I agree completely with you comments about Lily's actions in causing Ted to break up with his girlfriends, especially with Robin.

I just can't fathom the idea some have floated about man-slut Barney ending up with Robin.

If Ted can't have her, I want her.

Yes but it had the same music as when Jeff Bridges was flying in TBL.

When Marshall was lying in bed with Barney and describing the feelings in his night shirt. It was the dialogue from Spidey 1 where Peter Parker describes in Aunt May's hospital room what it's like to look in MJ's eyes.

Alyssa?

I think the whole idea is that Barney will cease to be a man-slut, reformed by the love of a good woman.

1) Ted can't have her, as established in the pilot.

2) Over my dead body.

I loved the Robin TV show. I don't know if they even bothered writing or recording dialogue for that, since it was clearly meant to be a silent sequence, but either way I hope they include the actual footage as a bonus on the DVD.

Joe

Re: How I Met Your Mother - season 4

I never saw the pilot for this show, or any of the previous seasons. I just started watching it this season as a followup to Big Bang Theory. But since Ted refers to her "Aunt Robin" when talking to his kids in the future voice-overs, I'd say they're not getting back together. At least not permanently.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - season 4

BTW, great move to call ted's girlfriend a douche. One of those words like scumbag that gets used all the time in everyday life but nobody was bold enough to use it on a network show. Right after Marshall said it, I was thinking wow, and then he said it again. Very cool and very funny.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - season 4

I got a real kick out of all the Canadian Sex Terms. It was like they were playing some adult Canadian Clue game. lol

I am at work, so can't really look and see if that website exists. I really hope it does. Can someone post a link for me to follow when I get home?

I sort of like the idea of Ted opening up his own office. It might give the show some fresh air.

It's real

Canadian SEX Acts

Of course, the site stops short of actually giving descriptions of each sex act, instead bringing you to an error page, each one with a different picture of Alan Thicke holding tools and looking confused

Re: How I Met Your Mother - season 4

Harvey's Trays, the Frozen Snowshoe, and Old King Clancy.

Great stuff - it took me a little while to get into this show but I'm hooked. I generally laugh out loud several times at every episode.

I'm surprised to see the love that the show preceding this one about the nerds gets. I watched a few episodes and thought it was terrible. To each his own I guess. I'll definitely be giving it another chance though because I want to like it.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - season 4

I just saw that Bunny Colvin was the Wire peep getting airtime.

I'm getting a kick of how they're hiding Alyson's pregnancy on the show. I'm guessing Cobie isn't anywhere near as far along as Alyson, since we saw her stomach a lot. Is it wrong that I thought she looked hot in that rave outfit?

The things that NPH does for a laugh. The man is a riot.

Crap! I'm over 30 and I've done tons of those things (sleep on a futon.. check. Pull an all-nighter? at least once a month. Eat a whole pizza in one sitting...) Damn.

The whole bit with teen-wolf vs. the kindergarten kids.. CLASSIC. I loved everything about Marshall believing in keeping score (and damn straight! I believe in Keeping score and trying to win!)

Re: How I Met Your Mother - season 4

I didn't think the episode was great. I did like the replay of old movie scenes again with Bunny the laser tag manager and Barney redoing the opening carrier scene from Top Gun.

Top Gun? Nah, I saw that as the classic loose cannon cop and gruff captain bit...which tied into the Murtaugh list a lot better.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - season 4

Marshall and the kid's basketball team brought back memories of when I coached my son on a YMCA basketball team when he was in 3rd or 4th grade. That league also did not keep score, but most parents were keeping score. Just like Marshall's team every kid on our team got a trophy at the end of the season.

Yeah, I'm 34 and I could totally eat an entire pizza. Of course I really shouldn't considering I wouldn't call myself anything resembling slender...

I didn't take the list to mean it was things they couldn't do anymore---just that doing them takes to heavy a toll now. I can still easily eat a whole pizza, but honestly I'm too old for it. I'd regret it later. Never cared when I was younger and burned through calories at a crazy pace.

I just pulled an all nighter this weekend. Thought it would waste me, but I was surprisingly good the next couple of days.

Barney's outfit was a bit much.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - season 4

I don't buy it.

I think that Ted running into Stella will eventually lead him to the real mother but i'm not buying that it's Stella herself.
