Pioneer system died.

Hello. I have a Pioneer XV-HTD520 surround sound that I have had for over 5 years. I have it connected to my HP laptop by RCA cables and I use it on my TV now and then. I think it died out on me though, the speakers work with my other radio, no surround sound settings seem wrong, so is it pretty much toasted?

If so, A new surround sound system couldn't be too bad. I'm happy with my Pioneer systems offerings of RCA and various inputs, and the settings and sound quality of it. What would be a good newer surround sound theater system I can replace my Pioneer system with to play with my laptop, speakers and all would be nice, a wh0ole new system. Any suggestions? I dont really want to break $400. Thanks.

I can't even recommend a good receiver for under $400, let alone a complete system.

Re: Pioneer system died.

Check Wal Mart. They have a Sony or Pioneer system for $400. Forget which it is. Not going to promise how good it is. Quality costs a little..........

What is the best way to connect my laptop to the receiver, I currently have a 30' RCA cable going from my headphone jack ran across the room over to the inputs on my receiver, If the computer is not playing anything, it will make a low buzzing sound through the speakers, doesn't sound like it should.

Re: Pioneer system died.

You'll need a soundcard and video card with the correct outputs, to go to a tv's inputs.
