What does the designation "Class" mean on LCD TV's?

I've been seeing this for a while....42" Class....36" Class TV but don't know what that means.

Anyone...????

TV's aren't exactly e.g. 42" diagonally, so they round the size to the nearest whole inch and call it the "class". So a 42" Class set could be 41.8" or 42.1".
