Paul,

MCH?  I know it's probably a no-brainer, but I can't place what that means.

I think he means Multi-Channel.  The DVD-A is very good, but I don't have a DVD-A player set up at home anymore.  When I talk to my students about high res audio, it is one of the discs I break out.  It is my test disc when I'm setting up.  That way I give it a high res listen at least once a year.

David is correct.  I mean multi-channel.

While my SACD collect far outnumbers my DVD-A collection, it will be a long time before I remove either one from my home system.  If I had some magical way to do so, I would convert everything in my music collection to a discrete MCH mix.  Alas, I must settle for matrixed MCH in many cases and it, to me, does not hold a candle to actual discrete MCH mixes.  I'm aware of one process that comes tantalizingly close--Penteo Surround--but it is not available on consumer gear yet.  If it ever does become available, I will be adding it to my system in short order.

David and Paul,

Okay, thanks.  I was a bit unsure about that one. :)

BTW, I noticed something rather astonishing about the music in an episode of The Mod Squad (season two, vol. 2) tonight.  I'll post it in the appropriate thread.

I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night) (Electric Prunes).

Pink Floyd----Pulse.......

I have enjoyed Pink Floyd since I was a teen, over 30 years ago,

I love Floyd. My first experience listening to them was in 1971. I've collected most of their work over the years. Although I love much of Floyd, the Syd Barrett years are quite interesting musically and those years are among my favorites.

Etude, op. 8, no. 12 (Scriabin) (Kissin).
