rate my home theater, pics

hi peps. well this is what my ht consist of.
tv: sharp aquos lc42d64u
amp: sherwood newcastle r771
speakers paradigm
front: monitor 7
center: cc270
surround: adp 170
sub pw2200

htpc:
mobo: gigabyte ga-ma78gm-s2h
processor athlon 4600+
2gigs of ram speed pc26400
2 westerndigital 500gb hdd

all of it hooked up by hdmi and otical audio.

Hi Dave, welcome to HTF! Judging by the pictures, here is how I would rate your home theatre:

1. HDTV proudly playing the Canadian National Anthem in 1080p, +4
2. Choice of curtains, -1
3. Paradigm Monitor loudspeakers, +7
4. Items and books on top of loudspeakers, -1
5. Childrens toy in front of door, potential tripping hazzard, -1
6. Receiver lacks HDMI inputs, -2
6. Hardwood floors, +1

Overall rate: 7

Calling any room with a 42" display a home theater is really pushing it. IF, you're sitting 5.5' or closer, then you might be OK, but of course, your speakers would have to be set up approriately as well. It doesn't look like either of those apply.

As a Home Theater: 1
As a Small Living room set-up: 5
As a bedroom set-up: 8

Looks like my set up at home but I use bookshelf speakers. Very nice!
