(Delayed Reaction)

Hey! Why wasn't Cameron's electronic eye blue when she was mowing down everyone? She'd flashed her electronic eyes as blue before, but it was red in the finale. Hmm.

FWIW, Shirley Manson was on Late Late Show and said she was an unemployed actress, so I suppose we at least know she won't be back...

Still hoping the show returns though.

Excellent news! I bailed on "Dollhouse" after the pilot, but "Sarah Connor Chronicles" and "Chuck" are probably my two favorite shows on TV.

Re: "TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season 2 Thread

Another poll, similar results! This one from Zap2It. I hadn't heard about any get-out-the-votes campaigns, so I'm thinking this may be, in a way, more accurate than the Neilsen ratingss! Bubble show poll results: You really, really want 'Terminator' and 'Chuck' back - From Inside the Box - Zap2it

Quote:
"Terminator" fans mobilized heavily to vote in their show's poll. As of 2 p.m. ET Thursday, the show had racked up 26,553 votes -- more than twice as many as any other show on the list -- and 86 percent of them (22,711) say FOX should keep the modestly rated show (5.3 million viewers this season) on the air.

The other big winner in the poll was "Chuck," which ended its second season on NBC Monday. It's getting 80 percent support from the more than 11,000 people who have voted so far.

No, he's in a future where he didn't become the leader of the resistance because he's been disappeared for however many years after jumping out of the basement of Zeira Corp. His father remains other-Kyle, who is similar to but not the same as the future-Kyle he meets at the end of this episode.

As far as I can tell, they've done a great job of using the many-universes time travel model to neatly sidestep the paradox problem. It's pretty much the only way to do backward time travel in a logically consistent manner, so it's very refreshing, after so many of the paradox time-loops in other shows.

Re: "TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season 2 Thread

I don't know that networks actually announce cancellations, and they certainly do not on Sunday night, but, Monday morning I am sure the network -- if asked -- will confirm that they did not renew it.

Mind you I am just focusing on semantics. Result is the same.

Here's the head writer's latest tweet: "BTW I still know nothing, and I have heard nothing from people I'd expect to know something. So keep hope alive...but take very deep breaths. [about 3 hours ago from TweetDeck]" Similarly, the showrunner (who hasn't tweeted much on Sunday) has said he hasn't heard a thing yet. Apparently they cancel shows through inaction, not action.

Re: "TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season 2 Thread

There should be some official word on this show shortly since FOX is supposed to be announcing their Fall Schedule at some point today.

*** EDIT ***

With the new movie opening on Thursday this has to be the Worse.Timing.Ever. for a network to be deciding the fate of this show.

Re: "TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season 2 Thread

Yeah, you would think that having a brand new Terminator movie would do wonders for a TV show based on the movie events. Fox should gamble a little bit and green-light a 3rd season. Maybe new fans of the Terminator movie won't get enough and start watching the TV show.

Well ...

It's *really* official now!

Here's the story on Fox's new Fall Schedule which specifically mentions the T:TSCC cancellation:

bastards! same goes to the writers of the show for having a very good idea that the show was going to be cancelled and yet they decide to end it with such a cliffhanger!

And Fringe is moving to Thursdays???? Damn it! Bunch of bad news!

I hope Salvation opens to $100,000,000.
ha

Maybe the Sarah Connor Chronicles is canceled, but the John Connor Chronicles will be in it's first season...you never know..

Re: "TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season 2 Thread

Hehe. It was official when I posted it. EW got the new schedule in advance. I should have posted a link.

I had given up hope anyway, but the people connected with the show had to keep hope alive with all their tweets and other statements.

Re: "TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season 2 Thread

You never know if it might get picked up by someone else, or if DVD sales combined with a hugely successful movie might change someone's mind. I sincerely doubt it, but stranger things have happened. Oh well... I enjoyed this show a hell of a lot more than I ever imagined I would, and it was a wild ride while it lasted.

It was all over the net -- credit due to the source, The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed -- but, it was only the schedule for the start of the season -- there was no info about what the mid-season shows would be, or what shows they'd use when some of the new shows fail.

I was expecting it but it still sucks. This was one of my favorite shows in a long time.

This is really too bad especially since the last episode ended the way it did.

If the series had to end, I'm OK with the final episode. To me it was a decent ending to the Sarah story-arc and a good segway into what could be a future John story-arc. YMMV.

RIP TSCC.

Re: "TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season 2 Thread

Geez ...

BSG, SG: Atlantis, and now T:TSCC all ending in the same year ...

And yet this is the same year giving us a new Star Trek and Terminator movie.

I'm confused ...

I *still* believe that if T4 is a big hit there's at least an outside chance that somebody like "SyFy" might pick up this series ...

Yeah, it's too bad that Salvation couldn't have come out a month earlier. If it proves to be a massive hit, I have a feeling that TSCC would have made it.

Re: "TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season 2 Thread

I was nearly certain given what EW had been saying since even late 2008 about TSCC. As I mentioned before, they had several features saying what was wrong with this show, how the writers knew the ratings were bad and the cast being upset over how things are being done. This was very clear back when they got word of the last few episodes when they thought it was over before then. That is why I always thought they gave up on the show LONG ago.

The writing and show was never that good to me at all. I liked maybe about 12 shows out of the two seasons period and it was good for awhile. But very little effort was put into it and the stories seemed like they never had a clue what they wanted to do or any real direction.

The actors, such as Summer, was quoted in an article of EW Insider where I have said before she felt like her character was all but a cameo appearence for season two and she was quite unhappy about the show in general.

Plus the actors all said they were done basically some 4 months ago when Summer said she wasn't available back in late '08 and then said she was in early '09. Garbagebot also said she was an actress out of work when interviewed and there was suppossed to be a preview for a new show staring BAG long before this was announced.

This is no suprise to me for some time now, but I know some will miss it. Had it stayed focused on the three core characters as even EW pointed out as well, it may have been a decent show with better writers. No surprise and no big deal in the end.

By now most of you have heard the news that T:SCC is cancelled. I received a call earlier today from Peter Roth at Warner Bros. and I appreciate both his personal and professional support throughout this show’s life. I know a lot of you are angry about the cancellation and want to find a place to direct your anger and to that I say do yourself a favor and find a way to move past it. Every network wants a big fat hit, especially one with a brand name behind it, and Fox was/is no different. They supported the show, they supported my vision of the show, and they gave it plenty of time to find an audience.

And what an audience we found: passionate, intelligent, kind of nuts in a good way. My only complaint about the T:SCC fans is that there aren’t ten million of them. But I prefer to be happy for the ones we had instead of lamenting the ones we didn’t.

Good shows are cancelled every year; smart shows, worthy shows, shows which move their viewers to write blogs and have viewing parties and create action figures and bury executives’ email accounts under thousands of messages. I miss Deadwood and The Wire and Arrested Development but thank God that I still have Rescue Me and The Office and a recently renewed Party Down written by ex-T:SCC writer John Enbom.

Bad shows are cancelled, too. And certainly there are those who did not like what we did and had their own vision for what a Terminator TV show should be. It’s easy to look at low ratings or cancellation as “failure” and for those who believe we’ve gone about this all wrong I’m sure today’s news will only serve to confirm a world view that I would never try to change. We’ve written the show as best we can, executed it to the best of our abilities, and sent it out in the world knowing that we worked out asses off to do something that wouldn’t be a waste of anybody’s forty-three minutes.

Thanks to a brave and talented cast, a feature crew working on a TV schedule, and everyone else who I could list but won’t because they know who they are. Mostly I’d like to thank those of you who’ve supported us and fought for us and given up hours of your life to watch our show. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s about. The watching.

Hope we do it again soon.

Josh Friedman

Not sure about that I figured John Became the Resistance's Messiah because of his struggle to live thru what he did, and Judgement day.. but now to know he skipper Armegeddon.. seems like a cheat.

I appreciate the statement from Josh Friedman. Thanks for sharing it.

The best thing about learning the status of the show is I don't have to hear about the all-knowing EW for awhile.
