Re: Kitchen Nightmares Season 2
I finally watched "The Handlebar". While it was interesting, I wonder if they wouldn't have been more profitable just flipping to be just a bar. I mean, the bar when they walked in was very busy, so liquor sales were good. Just the dining area was empty. 4 LCDs means on game nights, they probably had decent grouping.I mean, I might have been tempted as the owner (before Ramsey) to just empty/sell the tables, flip to doing cheese sticks and chicken wings put up a big screen and dart boards and say "we're a sports bar"

One thing that's hammered home every time I watch this show is that I NEVER want to go into the restaurant business...........and after seeing the conditions in some of the kitchens I'm not so gung ho about eating out anymore either.

I *almost* went into the restaurant business once (my wife owned a small place and I thought about buying out her partner, but they eventually sold the business). Sometimes I wonder what might have been. Then I watch an episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

Thanks for that Marianne—very funny.Actually however little Gordon was obsessed with football, playing for the Rangers until he had a career-ending injury (knee I think, but I can no longer remember). Still pretty funny to think of him calling out his Mom for her lunches.
