Entourage: Season Five - Page 4

Re: Entourage: Season Five

Agreed. From the same writer who did the mushroom episode, my least favorite of the series, came last night's ep, my favorite of the season. The amount of call backs to earlier plotlines was great. Seth Green, Sloane (holy crap I rewound that scene twice), Vince's figuring out that maybe he's not a great actor, Charlie and the pilot, etc. The use of Ari was real good. The lack of Drama and Turtle was a nice break. Even Connolly, who I think is acting-challenged, delivered a great line with the "I have a fiancee" line. First time I actually believed he really was E, rather than playing E. From a substantive side, the turning of the evil director into someone who might help Vince by teaching him how to act was strong.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

I like Seth Green but I really enjoy seeing him be a jerk and getting beat up.

Loved Drama's line about still having a piece of Seth's friend's tooth still stuck in his knuckle.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

Sloane did look pretty awesome in her dress. Anytime Seth Green gets punched, it's a good thing.

"Please."

Seth Green + Sloane's dress = AWESOME EPISODE!!!

Re: Entourage: Season Five

fav. part is when the rapper is having sex, lol.

and of course when they are out and about in hollywood, the casting director is basically the star of this series because the extras are always extra hot.

Is that's what's going on? I took it as the director continuing to undermine Vince in a passive aggressive way. Concentrating on small details goes counter to everything I've ever heard about acting - you're supposed to internalize the goals of the character and let the behavior flow naturally toward the accomplishment of the goal. I figure Vince is going to be so focused on these imaginary flaws, he'll be distracted and his performance is going to turn to utter crap.

After Vince was lied to outright and then the director just walked away during the take, I was yelling at the TV - "Give it up, he's just going to cut you out of the movie anyway!"

Re: Entourage: Season Five

I was a little puzzled by that whole thing with the director. Wasn't sure if he really was trying to help Vince...or if he's just a whack job.

This was a strange episode for me. It was over so fast (which is usually a good thing), but in the end it seemed like not much really happened.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

That's a good point about the director meddling. I didn't see that, but now that you mention it, that could be what is happening.

That's what I took it as too. Drama and Turtle were talking about how weird the day had been and Vince is worrying about keeping a can balanced on his head or stopping a nearly imperceptible (or non-existent) lip quiver so it seems like he's concentrating more on silly things than his performance.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

No...he's not helping Vince by pointing anything out. He's fucking with him because he's a jerk. And, Vince is falling for it.

Don't know what the director's motives are...but, he's clearly gunning to drop Vince from the movie.

Spoiler ahead

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
If you've seen preview for next week, you know that's the whole point, that he gets dropped from the film.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

since mark wahlberg produces the show, don't u luv that the series perspective on directors is that they are all a bunch of psychotic lunatics?

Re: Entourage: Season Five

Thought last nights episode was really great.

Prob the best of the season.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

Just a guess but I think we'll see the return of Bob "Is that something you might be interested in?" Ryan and his Ramones script in the finale.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

For as much as they keep harping it, the idea of a movie about the Ramones actually -is- interesting to me.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

I liked the episode, the scenes with the Director had me laughing my ass off. Him storming down the hall yelling for the head guy was outrageous.

I don't know about next week.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
They all just up and leave Hollywood?

Re: Entourage: Season Five

^ I think it's just more of a vacation from the Hollywood BS so they can go to the place where Vince is a king (as Turtle- or shall I call him Sal?- said).

Re: Entourage: Season Five

Blarg. Turtle is a total idiot. I would have had my cell phone -OFF-. Either Jamie digs it and follows, or he's a total moron.

I was thinking the same thing but everything he has is because of Vince so if Vince needs him then he has to go.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

I thought it was interesting, and wondered if it was intentional, that we aren't privvy to Jamie-Lynne's reaction to Turtle bailing.
Kind of puts the audience just a bit into the gang's shoes, ie. we know who he hooked up with, but Turtle's still 'mum' on what their status is now.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

is it really true the actor portraying turtle is hooking up w/her in real life?

Yes.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

i wonder if that's before the shooting of this series/episode or after?

Re: Entourage: Season Five

Well, I was way off on Herr Director. Loved last night's episode. Very little padding. Ari's new partner looks like he'll be a good character. And we finally got to see Ari doing superagent things, even if it backfired. Still love Dana Gordon.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

Great episode. The last couple shows had been a little "iffy", but this one was a nice return to form.

As for Turtle dating Jamie Lynn in real life, all I can say is "whoa"(in my best Keanu voice).

Re: Entourage: Season Five

And Martin Scorsese makes another appearance on an HBO show.

That episode seemed to fly by but it did wrap up the season rather well. I liked seeing Vince hit some speed bumps this season but it seems like his career will be OK so I hope they have some fun with his great Hollywood life again.

I loved Drama's line about "He's fucking her and I'm going to jump off the Tri-Borough Bridge."

Re: Entourage: Season Five

How fleeting is friendship in the life of an actor down on his luck? Pretty.

Got a good laugh at Turtle getting busted by his mom for his phone play with Jamie.

Was that Michael Phelps that E ran into on the street?

I think so... right as that happened, I turned to my wife and said, "was that Michael Phelps?!"... we rewond it and played it a few times...

It either was him or someone who looked A LOT like him.

Re: Entourage: Season Five

The bigger question is why Michael Phelps would be in Vince's neck of the woods. That was him, though.
