Im getting a new HD satellite receiver in the near future. And my preowned newly purchased Kenwood HTiB doesnt have HDMI inputs. So apparently Im going to have to run the HDMI from the sat recv to the tv and bypass the Kenwood recv. If HDMI already has video AND sound how do I get sound to my speaker system? Do I use the digital coax output on tv to Kenwood recv? Because I do have digital coax cable. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: A question about HDMI
You will use the digital audio output (optical or coax) on your satellite receiver and connect it to the Kenwood. The digital output on your TV is for decoding sound from its internal digital tuner(s). 99.999% of TVs do NOT pass audio from HDMI to their digital audio outputs. I didn't use 100% because there will always be a rare case but I haven't seen one yet.-Robert
