I just loved everything about this episode, Hodges flip-phone and "He's dead, Jim" to Wendy decoding Hodges' declarartion of love in the alien language. (She apparently has an excellent, maybe even eidetic, memory.) On Babylon 5 Ranger Marcus Cole once told Cmdr. Susan Ivanova that she was beautiful in Minbari, a language she didn't speak. But she did have an eidetic memory, and months later she studied Minbari and found out what he had said. The Hodges fantasy sequences were great. And, of course, there was the wonder of Wendy, finally out of those lab outfits. Regards, Joe |
| I agree, it was perfect use of Ron Moore declaring the redux sucked! Did anyone else notice that Grace Park was one of the convention goers as the camera panned around the group watching the redux? |

The only thing that upset me was the fact that the "He's dead Jim" line was spoiled by the show's promos. |

| I’m a great fan of the original “CSI” and own all eight season sets on DVD. The 2nd through 8th seasons are especially terrific, with their widescreen aspect ratio, commentary tracks and other extras. But the 1st season is always a bit of a disappointment to revisit. The later seasons look look fantastic up-scaled on an HDTV display, the season 1 set, less so. It really is an anomaly in what is now a substantial collection. I see you are finally revisiting season one, which some of us have been urging you to do for years, but only on Blu Ray Disc. This is terribly disappointing to the millions of “CSI” fans who don’t own Blu Ray players and who have no plans to buy them anytime soon. (I did buy an HDTV when my old standard def set gave up the ghost, but a Blu Ray player and pricey Blu Ray discs? Those are luxuries I can’t afford right now.) I would be willing to spring for a new standard def season 1 set, though, if it were widescreen and had the extras that are being included on the Blu Ray version. I am sure I’m not alone in this, and the fact remains that SD-DVD players far outnumber Blu Ray players. Since you’ve already produced the extras and created the HD widescreen masters it would be a trivial matter to down-convert the same content for release on SD-DVD, for the benefit of those of us who love the show but aren’t ready to invest in Blu Ray. I hope that you will give the idea some serious thought. You’ve certainly had enough success repackaging theatrical films with new transfers, added bonus materials and other bells and whistles, and there is no reason to think that you can’t have similar success with a TV property, provided there is a big enough built in audience and that the improvements in the new version are compelling enough. Sincerely, Joseph DeMartino |

| I'm wondering how common this type of thing is, since writers of television shows often reveal they get names and character's traits from real people in their own lives. |
