The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Nightmare Before Christmas & Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning from me (probably at CC).

Is the Blu-ray version of the WB Classic "The Adventures of Robin Hood" still due out this week?

As far as I know, Chris. It showed up on all my release lists AND was listed by retailers. Had you heard it would be delayed for some reason?

Re: Weekly RoundUp 8-26-2008

Thanks guys! I'll be picking up The Nightmare Before Christmas (Blu), The Stooges Collection 3, and most likely the Target exclusive SD version of Heroes: Season 2. I didn't care much for the storyline of the abbreviated second season and can't see spending an extra $20+ on a Blu-ray set. If the Blu includes the same extra content as the Target SD, then I may reconsider...

Re: Weekly RoundUp 8-26-2008

Amazon now says the Ultimate Nightmare Before Christmas set has been "discontinued by the manufacturer".

Re: Weekly RoundUp 8-26-2008

Thanks as usual.

Only the blu-ray upgrade of Robin Hood (depending on reviews of PQ).

Just a rumor that I suspect is based on the fact that it's a catalog release and may not be ordered high enough to meet demand. I'm very skeptical that it's true but I figured I'd ask.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 8-26-2008

Huge week for me- Heroes: Season One, Heroes: Season Two and The Nightmare Before Christmas on Blu-Ray and Entourage: Season Four and The Shield: Season Six on DVD.

And for only 10 episodes, the prices on The Shield are way too high. I'm not one of those guys who waits for a $20 sale on every TV title but I may hold off since Sony is charging a price that is closer to the price of an HBO show.

Thanks for the prices, guys!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 8-26-2008

Okay that seals it, I was going to wait until Monday but i'm going to go get that Alizee concert today.

No word on Friends going back on sale huh? Rats.

EDIT: Nevermind, Friends would qualify for that 25% off sale.

I am so out of it, I guess. I had never heard of Alizee, but have to admit she is "easy on the eyes".

Re: Weekly RoundUp 8-26-2008

Thanks gents. Prolly nothing this week.

Then again, I might pick up Perfect Storm BD. Depends if I need a late week pick me up or not.

Marty you should check out the Tribute to Brunettes thread over in the After Hours forum. You'll find her posted in post #1 and quite considerably posted in the last couple of pages (when news of this release broke). And, of course, she was revisited quite liberally throughout.

Do you know someone who is definitely be going to carrying this in-store, John? I'm figuring anyone looking for Alizée is going to have to go on-line.

Yep, when I posted that I thought I could just go and buy it but when I looked on BB.com I discovered that it isn't available in-store.

I hate buying things on-line, I want her, er, I mean it, now dammit!

Uh oh. Something funny's happened to amazon's listing of the Alizee disc. It is no longer listed as a new release with an August 26 date and $24.99 price tag.

Mike,

I'm not sure if that's sarcasm, but Alizee is a HUGE favorite of mine---I am really big on European pop music (UK, Germany, Sweden [I know, that's Scandanavia!], France) and was SHOCKED to see it in the Round-Up! Can't WAIT to see the whole thing!

Check Youtube.......plenty of stuff that's easy on the eyes.

Lets see....for me it will likely be Blu-rays of Redbelt and Heroes: Season 2. Might wait on Heroes though....still have the first season DVD waiting in the wings to watch first.

EDIT: Nevermind....I picked up both seasons of Heroes on BD. The place I go for BDs offered a price for both that I simply could not say no to.

Three Stooges Collection: Volume 3

Maybe Heroes on BD, but from the reviews & what I heard is Season 2 is not all that good. I liked Season 1, but haven't seen any of #2.
