Re: SUPERNATURAL - Season 4 thread

I'm sad that we may lose Everybody Hates Chris as well.

This link mentions that Reaper is still "on the bubble," along with Privileged and The Game. It would kind of have to be, though, until they see how the new episodes will perform.

Sam seems headed to a bad place.

And it was nice to see a dedication to Kim Manners too.

Re: SUPERNATURAL - Season 4 thread

Finally caught up with last week's episode, the season's shaping up for some epic showdowns by the season's end. Alistair's "Godfather" accent was sort of getting on my last nerve, though. Anna don't play. It is a shame that Supernatural is probably the best show that not enough people are watching regularly.

Re: SUPERNATURAL - Season 4 thread

Kind of a ho-hum filler ep this week. Kind of unsettling, though, to see Sam & Dean as a couple of unrelated corporate drones (with a little role reversal having Dean being the high-paid executive and Sam earning an hourly wage doing tech support from a tiny cubicle).

Though the Smith & Wesson reference was a little to cutesy for my taste.

Re: SUPERNATURAL - Season 4 thread

I liked this episode, it showed Dean that his life as a hunter is his true destiny and he will always be drawn to it.

A couple of those suicides were just nasty.

It's amazing how an hour-long horror/drama television show can still manage to be more entertaining than The Happening.

Re: SUPERNATURAL - Season 4 thread

I loved the nod to "Shaun of the Dead" & "Hot Fuzz". The quick shots of the printer, copier and pencil sharpener.

I liked the episode. It was (mainly) a break from the angel-demon war.

I also loved the return of the "Ghostfacers"....Wichester-douche's.

Re: SUPERNATURAL - Season 4 thread

Since there's only 5 more episodes left this year, I assume this was probably one of (if not) the last stand alone episode of the season. I like the slight change of pace since a number of the episodes lately have been mythology based.

I liked that too.

I was waiting for them to Google "the Winchesters" and see pictures of themselves lol.

Yeah, I was waiting for that, too.

Dean Smith & Sam Wesson: Hey...That's us!!!

I have to seriously disagree with you about that. I'm hoping she becomes Dean's lover/confidant the way Ruby is for Sam. I mean, the conclusion to this show has to be big, and one brother having a relationship with a let's say "disenfranchised" angel (fallen angel seems too harsh since Anna's not a demon), and the other brother with a demon really makes for a good story. If you have a problem with how the actress plays the role, that's one thing. But I think the character herself is an excellent addition to the story arc.

Re: SUPERNATURAL - Season 4 thread

Last night's was classic! It had all of the key ingredients that makes a great episode of this show, it was freakin' hilarious and interesting in the way it took it's plot that was at first played for laughs and incorporated it into the main storyline.

"I'm full frontal in this thing, dude."

I loved their reaction to the fans who write about them hooking up together. Every fan site for all shows have those same people.

I liked the acknowledgment that "Bugs" and "Ghost Ship" were poorly written.

I so wanted to see the Archangel come and kick that demon's arse.

Yeah, why warn Lilith about what was coming just so she had time to get away? That seemed pretty dumb on Dean's part. If he'd kept his mouth shut, and kept her talking for a few more seconds, she'd be history.

Also enjoyed the reference to an "M. Night level of douchiness..."

Re: SUPERNATURAL - Season 4 thread

That Cuisinart scene in the last episode was pretty graphic. I could see it coming, but was surprised it was so...wet.

Next new episode on April 23. That must begin the run to the season finale.

Re: SUPERNATURAL - Season 4 thread

Weird standalone "Jump the Shark" episode before the true stretch run for this season. It seems like they writers went for one too many "what if" episodes this season by introducing the 3rd Winchester son by John. But there were some good use of signage for such a JTS episode.

Re: SUPERNATURAL - Season 4 thread

At least it was a one-off appearance and the brother will not be a "Robin" tagging along with the two regulars.

That was another pretty gruesome episode for network television. I continue to be rather amazed by what they get away with on this show with regard to gore. It's like something right out of a "Saw" movie.

I haven't seen the season yet (waiting for the BD set), but may I ask if there was one episode that you found rather scary? Just wondering in anticipation.

I thought "Jump the Shark" was pretty damn creepy (and gory, too).

I think Jump The Shark was the best scare episode of the year. That being said, the show has managed to hit a good balance of using Padalecki and Ackles' comedic chemistry and timing to go for a little more funny than horror and chills.
