want to buy projector any recommendations?

hi i am new here and to the world of home theatre
i want to put together a small home theatre in my home
either in the family room or in a small bedroom im still undecided

my total budget is about $1000

id like to buy HT in a box and a projector with that money i know its not enough money but i want to make it happen and hopefully buy the best of the crapiest (HAHA) projector and surround

what projector would you guys recommend?

Not realistic. You will either have to get something used or continue to save your money until you can work with a bigger budget. You will also need a screen, projector mount, cables, and a program signal source (DVD, Blu-ray, game console, cable service, satellite service, digital over the air TV tuner, etc.).

up the budget just a tad and go for the Mitsubishi HC4900 or Epson Home Cinema 720. As mentioned you'll need a screen(Carada makes awesome product), mounts, cables. Check out projectorpeople.com for product spec, info.
