Touch of Evil is a sale, though. I can't imagine it ending up on BluRay for a long time unlike the Hitchcock titles.

I agree.

I'll probably pick up Touch of Evil and pass on the Hitchcock's.

The soundtrack music from Psycho has never been issued on CD. It's a pity Universal is not following Fox's lead in including many music-only audio tracks with DVDs.

These are all one of those "no Blu-ray, no sale"-type of releases.. I have already "The Masterpiece Collection", etc. Universal, c“mon!

Re: USHE Press Release: Hitchcock Legacy Trio

I assume that Hitchcock legacy DVDs will be released in Europe, I see that recently Universal has released a number of 2 DVD sets containing 2 or 3 Hitchcock films for 10 Euros for the unsuspecting german to buy now and "force" them to double-dip later.

Just in note, since I DON'T have Blue Ray, I am very interested in these 3 releases of some of my favorite Hitchcock..

Re: USHE Press Release: Hitchcock Legacy Trio

Universal did lease classic films like Double Indemnity and the Marx Bros films to Image and when that license expired released the films themselves. I don't understand why they stopped. Their Preston Sturges set was great.

Re: USHE Press Release: Hitchcock Legacy Trio

How to properly present older films in blu-ray may be part of the hold up.
Grain specifically. If they take too much out people complain about the lack of detail and excess DNR. If they leave it in other people complain about the fuzzy picture and why does it not look better than SD.

Re: USHE Press Release: Hitchcock Legacy Trio

There is no credible evidence that a nine hour version of Psycho exists. It was an April Fools prank by a blogger. In the story he says the shower scene went on for 45 minures and after the test screening two of the audience members killed themselves.

Re: USHE Press Release: Hitchcock Legacy Trio

I finally got around to watching my single-disc Notorious and I am quite impressed all around. My VHS can finally be retired. This will tide me over for a few years, but I want the Universal Hitchcock's on Blu sometime yesterday!
