Pushing Daisies - Season 2 - Page 5

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

Even worse news from Nielsens: CBS tallies 9 of the top 10 shows for the week - USATODAY.com
Quote:
Finishing their unsuccessful runs last week: NBC's My Own Worst Enemy (3.9 million viewers Monday), and ABC's Wednesday duo Pushing Daisies (4.7 million) and Dirty Sexy Money (series-low 5.1 million). Both ABC shows will air a few remaining episodes next summer.
I had thought that we would see the last episodes of Pushing Daisies in January, but it appears we'll have to wait until summer or the DVD release.

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

Just when it was back to being really good. Fuller's talked movie wrapup. I thought maybe the Dead Like Me DTV movie was precedent, but he apparently wasn't involved. I really hoped we'd at least see Chuck reunited with the "aunts."

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

Over at Grey's Anatomy, Pushing Daisies, 24, Housewives Scoop and More! - Today's News: Our Take | TVGuide.com there is a question about the final episodes:
Quote:
Any word on dates for the final three episodes of Pushing Daisies? — Kathy
MICKEY: ABC is contractually obligated to air the remaining episodes, but I've also heard that they might burn them all off in a one-night marathon. That's a lot of pie for one sitting.
By the way, the titles for the final three episodes are up over at PUSHING DAISIES | The Pie Maker: The Ultimate Pushing Daisies Resource

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

That's good news. I was worried they wouldn't air at all, and we'd have to wait for the DVD/Blu release (which I am going to buy, I just don't want to have to wait that long). But if they are required to show the episodes, that's a relief. Now we just need to wait, and hope it's reasonably soon.

It'll probably be a midsummer's Saturday night.

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

ABC should fire their marketing department.
PD was one of the best shows on the tube in a long time.
I'm sad I won't get to visit The Piehole anymore.

Another confirmation of ABC's plan of not airing the end of Pushing Daisies until June at the earliest:

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

Man, I thought film festivals were cool, but Paley Fest looks awesome! I'd even be tempted to pay $750 for one of the special packages that include tickets to four events and a VIP party.

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

Season 2 is available for pre-order on Amazon.UK on DVD and Blu-ray for those with all region players. The sets will be available in the last week of May in the United Kingdom.
The season 1 sets came out several months earlier in Europe than in North America so, following that pattern, it is likely that season 2 will be available in the U.S. before the end of the summer.

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

Hopefully that's an indication that season 2 will be released on Blu-ray here in R1. I think they've only announced the DVDs at this point. I'm not usually very picky with TV material, but I think for this particular show, no BD would probably be a deal breaker for me.

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

On TVShows, it is revealed that S2 will be out on DVD/BR on July 21. It was earlier established that a DVD set couldn't be released until ABC aired the remaining three episodes or gave up their right to do so, so we'll either see the episodes on TV before then or never. I don't really want to buy the set just to watch the last three, but that may be the only option.

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

Glad to hear this is on the schedule for a DVD release. I'll be buying it whether ABC airs the last three or not. I just had a look over the The Futon Critic, and it doesn't seem there's any news about when/if the remaining three might air.

Oddly, I just saw a promo this morning of my local ABC affiliate's website which featured at least two cancelled shows ("Dirty Sexy Money" and "Pushing Daisies"). Oops.

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

I got to see the first of the three final episodes. Episode 11 Window Dressed to Kill

A REALLY good episode. And seeing Pushing Daisies again, makes me sad that this show didn't get a chance or isn't continuing on.

My favorite part is when Olive Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
sings Lionel Ritchie's Hello, Is it me you're looking for

I guess you were at the Paley Festival ( did you catch a Pushing Daisies t-shirt).

Check out

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

It's currently airing in the UK on ITV, Friday nights.
A lot of people will have sen it before ABC gets around to showing it.

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

The second of the last three aired yesterday.

Water and Power

Another really good episode.
We get Robert Picardo in this episode.
Along with characters Simone and Bubble Gum back for Cod.

And we finally get the story about Cod we've been waiting for.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

Kerplunk

Honestly, I didn't like this series finale.
Even though it has a nice little fitting ending for
MAJOR SPOILER Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Chuck revealing to Lilly and Vivan that she's alive

But they use less than two minutes to tie up every loose end for all the major characters. I thought it was rushed, forced and just a "there, we ended it for you" type of ending.
Which I'm sure wasn't on purpose but at the fault of ABC, and then leaving Fuller to just give us "something"
I just didn't find it a fulfilling series finale.

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

Seen in a print publication, so I'm retyping it:

Quote:
For several months now, Bryan Fuller has talked about the possibility of using comics to continue the saga of a pie-maker with the ability to bring the dead back to life. Now he has confirmed that not only will he be doing just that, but he'll be doing it for DC Comics.

Fuller has told E! Online that "we got a twelve-issue order for a comic book for DC Comics. I think the comic book is great, because it has all the characters in it, and it starts a new story. It's basically Chuck, Ned, Emerson and Olive versus over a thousand corpses, so it becomes a zombie movie--but the zombies are articulate and smart and can do things that no other zombie can do. The Pie-Maker versus 1,000 corpses."

Pushing Daisies fans can look for the comic this fall. . . .

I'm tempted at the idea.
I just might buy the first issue.

ABC is showing the first of the final episodes tonight.

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

Thanks. I surely would have missed it. I had to wipe my DVR a few months back, and I lost it as a series recording. I also lost legacy shows like Veronica Mars that I was keeping on my series list, which isn't important but is kind of sad.

Re: Pushing Daisies - Season 2

I'm looking forward to taking another trip to the Pie Hole, even if its only for a few episodes. I've missed this show and I'm happy ABC was nice enough to air the final episodes.
