KSW-12 113bd @ 105 cont. watts, 440 dyn. watts 12" speaker
MSRP $550.00 EBAY $300.00

RW-10d 112bd @ 260 cont. watts, 575 dyn. watts 10" speaker
MSRP $550.00 EBAY $300.00

Or any suggestions on a very good sub around this price range???

ONKYO TX-SR606

-(2) KLIPSCH F-2 TOWERS
-KLIPSCH QUINTET SL SURROUND SYS(5 pcs) (didnt use the Klipsch center)
-POLK AUDIO CS20 (CENTER CHANNEL)<< supposively better center channel.

Den its going in is around 450sq ft (if that matters).
21' x 24' ft 10' Ceiling 10' aprox. opening for dinning room area
Trying to decide on which sub would work best???
More into movies rather than listening to music...
I'm not very perticular on listening at certain reference volumes or frequencies, just looking for the best sub for my sys and the money...

Re: Klipsch Subwoofer??? KSW-12 / RW-10D ??

Copied/pasted from the thread in the Receivers section:

Not only does the square footage of the room matter, the cubic volume of the room matters. Is the room closed or open to other parts of the house? If you have a very high ceiling or it is an open floorplan, the subs have to work harder to pressurize the room.

What are your goals? Do you want to feel the pressure waves when watching action movies? Do you listen at reference or close to reference levels? If you want to feel the bass or like it loud, then the Klipsch subs won't meet your goals. Look at SVS, Hsu, Elemental Designs and Epik Subwoofers. They are internet direct and you will get much more sub (quality and output) than buying a big box retail brand. If you have the skills and tools, DIY has the best bang for the buck.

I also noticed on your description of the rest of the sound system that you have 8 speakers? Why? Why is the center channel a Polk with the rest being Klipsch?

I own a "KlipHorn" 12" powered sub.

It is a poor design and the amp section blew after 3 years of low useage. Driver is not capible of low freq, reproduction 25-150 Hz, for example..

Stay away from this garbage!

Build a JBL sub with Dynaco SS amp. for best bag for the buk.

The KSW-12 is a garbage boomer of a sub. Regardless of cone size the RW10 is a superior sub in pretty much everything it does.
