I had to replace my broken TV with a new set and purchased a Sanyo DP42848, a 42" 1080P.
I compared between this and a Philips in the store and the Sanyo looked much better on the samples they were playing.
So I purchased the Sanyo, and now that I'm set up at home, I'm noticing some large areas of pixelization.
I'm connected to an XBox360 with component cables and a digital cable box with HDMI. I notice the issues on both component and HDMI. For example, on the loading screen in Guitar Hero III, the red areas are pretty blocky.
This is primarily in dark scenes. Scenes that are overall brightly lit look great and don't seem to have the issue at all.
I realize I'm limited in quality by my price range, am I'm trying not to have unreasonable expectations, but I'm concerned that these areas are this noticeable.
Is this to be expected from a set like this?
Would I be better off with the Philips? (42PFL3603D/27)
