HD A20 sound problem

My HD A20 will not send sound from a HD-DVD disc via HDMI or Optical cable but will send sound from a standard DVD through both.

This problem just appeared after 10 months of owning the machine.
I haven't recently installed firmware or made any adjustments.

Has anyone hard of a problem like this or have any ideas short of a trip to the shop to fix it?

Sounds like a setting for HD-DVD playback has been changed. Make sure (if there are separate settings) the audio out setting for HD-DVD is set the same as SD-DVD. Beside that I can't offer any explanation. Perhaps you need to reload your most recent firmware. I have an HD-A1 which would have a similar menu, however I'm away from home and can't recall the menu choices.

i have exactly the same problem....do u have a answer for me....please
i put the last firware ver.4.0 and i lost the sound now with the regular DVD

That's goofy. I have an A30 with 4.0 firmware and have experienced no audio problems. Go figure.
