Re: URGENT NEED HELP PLEASE
You can buy Woofer Tester 3 from Parts Express and quickly determine the Thiele/Small parameters. It will give you everything you need with the exception of xmax. For that you need to have them tested on a Klippel machine ($$$) or cut one up and measure the top plate of the motor and the length of the voice coil windings.Do you even have a link to the manufacturer's web site? Because if they don't have one, then I would suggest that they are not worth your time and effort.

Re: URGENT NEED HELP PLEASE
Every thread you have ever started has had the title in all caps. You don't need to do that, it is in poor taste, and, as I recall, it is also against forum rules. In addition to that, you rarely return to the threads you start.

Thats your opinion. Instead of putting me down look at yourself. I cant believe your reply was only to have a b*tch your life must be so dull try looking out another window for a change.Problem solved i took the subs to a hi fi shop and he said he can work out all the parameters with his equipment for $60. the 2 subs only cost me $50 new so im more than happy.

He didn't put you down, he offered a bit of constructive criticism that will (if heeded) help you fit in better with this community. So, would this be a bad time to point out that "URGENT NEED HELP PLEASE" is a poor thread title even without the ALL CAPS issue? (Or the lack of urgency issue?)
Most threads in the hardware forums are request for help of one kind or another, and everybody thinks their request is urgent. So the title bascially conveys zero information beyond, "I'm a thread in a hardware section."
Personally I tend to skip the "generic" threads, because there are only so many hours in the day, and I know more about some aspects of home theater than I do about others. I tend to hone in on the threads where I think I can help and ignore the others unless I think I can learn something. I know lots of other members who do the same.
"Help with Subwoofer" would have been a better title. "Help with Riesen Subwoofer" would have been even better, as that would have attracted the immediate attentions of folks with experience with that brand. It is always best to use the most specific title (of a reasonable length) possible. "Help with Samsung XYZ25 LCD TV" is better than "Help with TV", "Help with Samsung" or "Help with Samsung XYZ25". (Or "Help with XYZ25" which could be anything from a clock radio to a front projection system.
Regards,
Joe

Writing just for myself, I saw nothing other than a helpful suggestion from John—who is very able to deliver a withering broadside should he so choose.
Tone down the volume and you will find that (mostly) we are both civil and helpful.

And, frankly, what John offered up was not "opinion." It was a collection of facts.Troy: It probably seems like we're ganging up on you...but there's a lot of helpful information in the posts in this thread...all of which will go a long way toward making your stay at the HTF a pleasant one.
Besides Robert's advice on your technical issue (which you summarily ignored), there are several worthwhile points to be taken from the above posts of John, Joe & Lew...all well-respected members of the HTF community.
And, welcome to the forum!
