Mr. Harris, do you have any news on the possible restoration of John Wayne's Director's Cut of the Alamo? I read that the original print was found in London, I believe, but that they weren't sure they could salvage it.

MGM must have a copy somewhere, because they released an extended cut during the 90s on VHS. The color had faded and shifted, but it was definitely watchable. In fact, the color shift let you know where the additional scenes were, and you could judge for yourself whether the cut helped or hurt the film.

Someone on the Film Score Monthly Message Board has posted claiming to have had an email from Movies Unlimited saying that the extended version, with lots of extras, is due from MGM in mid-2009.
