"The Ultimate Matrix Collection" in October?

A five disc set featuring the movies and The Animatrix, plus a bunch of extras. I can't find any information about it other than this site though...

I would if it were priced at $5 or under.

Love the 1st and really enjoyed Reloaded so I don't know that I'd go the individual release route or not if it were available.

I bought the movie only set on HD DVD because the Ultimate set didn't include Animatrix in 1080P. Hopefully they correct it this time.

I was a little worried when I saw the $130 MSRP, but this can be found for $70 through Warner Bros. DVD Shop, so sold!

Use the 30 Percent off code (ANWBTS), however you will have to combine it with at least one other item.

I saw on HDDN that Amazon had this for $91, I thought that was still too much, for $70 I might bite tho...

What was the original media for Animatrix? Was it made for broadcast TV? If so, why bother wasting the disk space to upconvert it rather than letting the players do so?

It was projected in 35mm at certain film festivals 5 years ago so I don't think a 1080P presentation is an unreasonable request.

because upconverted material still is no were near as good looking as
real hd material.
why would being for broadcast tv be a factor.
plenty of stuff on tv that looks great on hdm.

i might only rebuy the first film and the animatrix if it was redone in hd.

then again, $70 for the whole thing is tempting

Depends of the source materal. "Final Flight of the Osiris" was shown shown in theaters before "Dreamcatcher" and it looked really good. There is definitely a Hi-Def source.

I can't vouch for the rest of the stories, but it is common practice to create these animations for theaters.

1080p should be an improvement.

Kinda wish I had my 2 hours back for Dreamcatcher though.

You and me both....I was so put-off by that piece of crap that I didn't even bother staying for the 'Final Flight of the Osiris' which was shown after the film's sneak preview screening at the theatre I was at.

The Warner Bros. deal for the Matrix set sounds really good......I'd go with that but would probably be dinged for customs fees so I'll probably have to go the Amazon route. I'll just put it in my cart for now and wait for a possible goldbox deal.

Hope someone is foolish enough too break this out of the set & sell it!
(I've got "Matrix, The" in HD & the SD DVD Box; don't want anything else other than "Animatrix, The" on HDM)
