The Young and the Restless has been the first and only soap opera broadcast in HD for the past 7 years. Does anyone have any inside info or even speculation as to whether the other soaps currently airing will be converted to HD or due to poor ratings are the production companies hesitant to invest in shows they fear may be canceled soon? They would get much more use out of their new equipment compated to primetime series. I'm still surprised that The Bold and the Beautiful hasn't switched seeing as it is filmed in the same building and by the same company as The Young and the Restless. I also recently saw a short behind the scenes General Hospital video in which the monitors on set are clearly show 16:9 monitors with a 4:3 safe area. Are any other scripted shows on the major networks still 4:3? Soaps are one of my favorite guilty pleasures.
