I'd be willing to bet that thinking through such things was not done by the filmmakers at ALL.  They simply said "we want a dramatic POV for the plane", and they weren't about to let mere logic get in the way of that.

I'm tremendously excited about this film anyway. That Disaster Porn spoof-promo is even better than the real promos. November 13 is too far away.
