iPhone 3G: Same Dock?

I know the new 3G iPhone does not come with a dock and
must be purchased separately.

Does this new iPhone still fit the current docks? I ask because
I know the 3G has a slimmer profile.

I would hope my current charger/sync dock will be compatible.

Not according to this - Time to sell your old iPhone dock, as the iPhone 3G won’t fit on it - Appletell

Guess we should be happy for a free data cable.

Get this boys and girls....the dock for the new iPhone will cost
$50. Way to go Apple!

Unfortunately this is nothing new for Apple.

They did the same thing with iPods.

Fortunately I never use the dock with my current iPhone since the case I have makes it impossible to use.

Patric is correct. This is Apple SOP for many years on many products.

My preference is a dock with speaker phone options.
This is not the one, but you get the idea.
