A remake of the prisoner? I view this with equal measures of eagerness and trepidation. Ian McKellen is a good start. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about Jim Caviezel to have any real opinion about him as number 6.

Actually, it would have been funny if Number Two was played by Patrick McGoohan.

I hope it's not as boring as the original.

Bwaa Haa!

The things I remember about this series, from when I was a kid, were the big bouncy balls.

Off-topic of course, but that's actually a decent shot of Frakes/Riker...

According to McGoohan Number Six.

I am a huge fan of the original and look forward to this remake. We will see.

Jim Caviezel will play number 6. From memory I don't recall number 1 ever being revealed. Number 2 ran the place, so number 1 would be the power who pulled the strings.

Unmutual!

I wonder if they will film at Portmeirion. It would be hard to come up with another locale as surreal and strange as that for The Village.

I liked the sequel DC comics once did, where a new character ends up in the abandoned and ruined Village, presided over by an older (and crazier) Number Six.

It's gotta be a Welsh village or it just won't work.

On the off-chance that a few have not seen the series:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Number One is revealed in the last episode (as I recall) to Number Six by Number Two—as being himself. That is Number Six who has been trying to escape is the very one who is in charge.

In the end we realize that all along we (along with Number Six) have known the identity of Number One, as revealed in the opening dialogue of every episode (as best I remember):

Number Two: I am Number Two.

Number Six: Who is Number One?

Number Two: You are Number Six.

Which of course can be phrased as: You are, Number Six

That's Tom Riker -- the simultaneous post-TNG commbadge and the peeled-off sideburns are the clues.
