Although these are undeniably groundbreaking classic films, I doubt I would buy them again in Blu because they are essentially character driven and do not depend heavily upon special effects.

Absolutely. The Professional is one of my favorite films, and The Island is a perfect choice for a top-notch Blu release. I also loved Super Ex. Great casting in Luke Wilson and Uma.

Excellent point. That may also explain why we are seeing some of the current releases. Mainstream appeal trumping quality productions.
